Anglo American Platinum Limited (Amplats) has formally signed a wage agreement with the National Union of Mine Workers (NUM), National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (NUMSA) and United Association of South Africa (UASA), resulting from this year's wage negotiation process.
The details of the agreement are as follows:
Wage increase
Year 1:
10% A to B Bands
8.5% C to D1 Bands
Year 2:
9% A and B
8% C to D1 Bands
Or alternatively
In the event that the twelve month average year on year Consumer Price Index (CPI) equals 8% in year 2 the wage increase will be 8% plus 2% for C and D1 bands and 9% plus 2% for A and B bands.
