Anglo Platinum in talks with Pelawan Investment regarding Twickenham BEE holding

On 6 September 2001 Anglo Platinum announced that it will be proceeding with the development of a new platinum group metals mine on the farms Twickenham, Paschaskraal and Hackney (the "Twickenham Project") on the Eastern Limb of the Bushveld Igneous Complex in the Limpopo Province, some 40 km from the town of Burgersfort.

The Company further announced that it will incorporate a Black Economic Empowerment partner in the mine to be established on the farms Klipfontein, Paschaskraal, Avoca and De Kamp which form part of the Twickenham Project. In terms of the settlement reached with the Department of Minerals and Energy, the Company is pleased to advise that discussions are taking place with Pelawan Investment (Pty) Ltd, the company which has been identified by the Department to be granted the mining rights in respect of the farms Avoca and De Kamp. Pelawan Investment (Pty) Ltd consists of the following consortia:

Meapong Investments (Pty) Ltd,

Kgathelopele (Pty) Ltd,

Leswika Womens Investment and

Africa Without Boundaries (Pty) Ltd.

When the discussions are concluded a further announcement will be made.
