JOINT ANNOUNCEMENT

Anglo American Platinum Corporation Limited ("Amplats") and Impala Platinum Holdings Limited ("Implats") announce that they have entered into agreements regarding the exploitation of mineral reserves on the farms Moddergat 389 KQ and Boschkoppie 108 JQ.

The agreements will allow Impala Platinum to mine approximately 2,1 million ounces of platinum from certain areas of Boschkoppie adjacent to its No. 8 and No. 12 Shafts and in return Amplats will have access to a similar reserve covered by Impala’s mineral rights on Moddergat adjacent to Amplats’ Amandelbult mine. The agreements are premised on a reciprocal royalty arrangement.
