Anglo American Platinum Limited – Fatal Incident

Anglo American Platinum regrets to report a loss of life at the Company’s operations. An employee was fatally injured in a forklift related incident at the Waterval Smelter on 21 December 2017.

Anglo American Platinum’s Finance Director, Ian Botha, said: “Our deep and heartfelt condolences go out to the family, friends and co-workers of our colleague and we are providing support to all involved during this difficult time. We are examining the cause of the incident and any underlying contributing issues. It is important that we reflect on the lessons learnt over the past year and ensure that we have taken all possible action to achieve a zero-harm environment. Our absolute priority is the safety of all our employees working on our operations.”
