In compliance with the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, the board of directors of Anglo American Platinum Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Tony O’Neill as a non-executive director, effective 30 October 2013.
Mr O’Neill is the Anglo American plc Group Director: Technical, with responsibility for mining and technology, business performance, asset optimisation, projects and SHE (safety, health and environment). Mr O’Neill brings 35 years of mining experience across a wide range of commodities, including precious metals, iron ore and base metals.
The board welcomes Mr O’Neill and looks forward to the experience and knowledge he will contribute to the board.
Shareholders are advised that Prof. Bongani Khumalo will be retiring from the Company’s board at the end of the current financial year, 31 December 2013.
The board thanks Prof Khumalo for his valuable contribution and guidance during his tenure the past 10 years and wishes him all the best in his future endeavours.
