Our approach to reporting what we do, shows both the difference we make and the responsible, transparent way we work.
We publish our Sustainable Development Report each year, setting out our approach and performance on each risk and opportunity.
Our Annual Report gives further detail of our performance across all operations. We also publish business unit reports on our individual mining operations, and country reports detailing regional activities.
Download our reports from our Annual Reporting Centre.
We also participate in a number of sustainability indexes and ratings, such as the JSE-SRI index, Dow Jones Sustainability Index, Carbon Disclosure Project, Water Disclosure Project, FTSE4Good and Integrated Reporting and Assurance Services.
The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)
All our reports follow the GRI’s recognised standards. We work with the GRI to promote full, transparent reporting as a way for all organisations to support sustainable development.
Our GRI table shows how we follow the guidelines.
The International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM)
The ICMM is a force for more responsible, sustainable practices wherever mining takes place in the world.
As founder members we’re committed to following the ICMM reporting framework and ten Sustainable Development Principles. These set out best practice on ethics, safety, health, conservation, transparency and supporting local communities.
The purpose of our Sustainable Development Report is to give stakeholders the information they need to make informed decisions about us. To do so, we need to report on those issues that are most material to both us and to our stakeholders.
And we’re committed to tackling these issues head-on: whether that means keeping our workforce healthy, operating more efficiently or finding new ways to recycle our resources.
We can’t do it alone, so our approach is all about building partnerships – with governments, communities and other stakeholders.
